Experience strategy and interior design programming as part of the renovation of a five-story building to house a private elementary school. A renowned lab school with a highly progressive philosophy, the client needed unique solutions to support its multi-disciplinary pedagogy, and a regular stream of visiting educators and researchers.
Public and private mix
With the need for frequent class observation by visiting groups, we designed the classrooms with semi-transparent glass walls and circulation spaces that doubled as impromptu meeting and activity spaces. Intimate classroom spaces were designed with moveable walls that opened to accommodate larger events.
